This is the site for Sean Binkley's blog based novel or 'blogvel' the Struggler.
An adventure and mystery set in Egypt after the January 25th Revolution of 2011, the Struggler, is a fictional story based in part on the two years the author spent living in the country between 2010 and 2012.
The Struggler attempts to reveal some of the social,
economic and political issues that led so many Egyptians to go out into
the streets and overthrow their government as well as the great
hardships, tragedies and political traumas that followed in the first
year and half after Egypt's President of three decades left office.
The story follows the path of a young
American who returns to Egypt four days after the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak. As he tries to settle back into a new Cairo, a mystery is unveiled through a
series of stories detailing the rise and fall of an enigmatic rebellious figure known as
'the Struggler'. This figure's fight for justice, spanning distant and recent upheavals in Egypt's modern history, reveals the
conditions that led to Revolution and the hardships and determination
of a people attempting to survive a harsh world and clouded horizons.
The four act novel, is available exclusively on this site. It is uploaded several chapters at a time every ten days.

The first chapter of the Struggler was made available on January 25th 2013, the second year anniversary of the Revolution.
This blogvel is dedicated to the Egyptian shebab (youth) who
protested, fought and died during the Uprising as well as to the the
dream of a better Egypt. That dream is a struggle that continues to this
day.
